The National Association of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) developed a program which local affiliates provide care packages to paralegal military personnel deployed in locations such as: Iraq, Afghanistan, Djibouti, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and the Navy Paralegals deployed at sea in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Beginning this month, and continuing every other month for the remainder of the year, SFPA will participate in this worthwhile project by collecting items from our members to forward to our active military.
The donations for the month of January must be received by January 25, 2010, and can be delivered to one of two locations:

A full list of suggested items for donation is listed in the attachment, but some examples are shown below:
Food - powdered Gatorade (obtain pre-sweetened variety of powdered drinks), granola bars, sunflower seeds, etc. anything non-perishable, and fairly small.
Hygiene - antibiotic ointment, eye drops, hand / body lotion, band-aids, Q-tips, Tylenol, baby wipes.
Miscellaneous - stationary, stamps, small sewing kits, paperback books.
FUN - disposable cameras, puzzles, balloons, miniature foam footballs, etc.
Prohibited Items: Adult/religious materials, pork products, alcohol, and playing cards.
Any items which could leak, melt, or are scented (Irish Spring soap) must be placed in a leak-proof, zipper sealed plastic Ziploc bag.
