Scholarships

The South Florida Paralegal Association annually awards scholarships to students who attend local schools.  It is our sincere aim to assist those who truly pursue a professional career as a paralegal. 

Awards from the Marisa Maugeri Scholarship Fund and the Sandra L. Keith Memorial Scholarship Fund are presented at the annual meeting, which is usually held in March.  The competition for the awards has traditionally centered on an essay format on a particular topic relevant to the paralegal profession.

The winning entries for the 2010 contest were submitted by Yaima Gonzalez (First Place: Sandra L. Keith Memorial Scholarship), student at Nova Southeastern University's baccalaureate degree paralegal studies progam, and Jessica Giraldo (Second Place: Marisa Maugeri Memorial Scholarship), student at Miami-Dade College's associate degree Paralegal Studies Program. 

The 2011 scholarship writing contest will be announced after January 1, 2011. Deadline for entries will be March 1, 2011.  Winners will be announced at SFPA's Annual Elections Meeting in March, 2011.  Location to be announced.
