The South Florida Paralegal Association, Inc. invites you to attend a CLE luncheon on February 25, 2020.
This month's CLE topic is on Immigration Law. Speaker, Isadora Velázquez, Esq., will be discussing the Trump administration's new public charge rule, which makes it more difficult for immigrants to get green cards. Some experts say the new rule could cut legal immigration in half by denying visas and permanent residency to hundreds of thousands of people.
Velázquez will explain important points regarding public charge, such as what it means, what you need to know, how it will affect clients, what is required, and evidence needed when applying for visas and permanent residency. In addition, Velasquez will discuss the Trump administration's new Asylum rules, the Travel Ban, and the proposed changes to fee increases.
Velázquez has over ten years of experience in immigration law representing individuals, in removal proceedings, cancellation of removal, asylum, adjustment of status, naturalization, as well as labor certification, Intra-Company Transfer Visas, Professional Visas and Specialty Visas. She has extensive experience in family based and employment based immigration proceedings. Velázquez has argued and won cases before the Executive Order of Immigration Review and Board of Immigration Appeals. Velázquez graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Miami and after only three years. She received her J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law in Pennsylvania State University.
